Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Experiencing mental health symptoms related to trauma, anxiety, or depression?
Perhaps you have heard of EMDR, but are not familiar with other types of therapies available to treat these mental health symptoms. Kim is thrilled to offer clients Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which can support clients in processing trauma and addressing other mental health symptoms in as few as 1-5 sessions. Kim is the only advanced trained ART therapist located in Tucson!
ART works by utilizing bilateral eye movements, similar to EMDR (which is what is being demonstrated in the photo), and a concept called Voluntary Memory/ Image Replacement (VMR/VIR). ART can be done effectively either in-person or via telehealth.
Kim has successfully treated a range of issues using ART, including:
Single-event traumas, such as car accidents, acts of violence, and sexual assault; also sometimes referred to as “Big T trauma”
Childhood abuse, including sexual, physical, spiritual, and psychological abuse
Chronic, ongoing abuse and/or neglect; also sometimes referred to as “little t trauma” or “complex trauma”
Anxiety
Depression
Complicated grief
Symptoms related to ADHD
Anxiety related to dyslexia/dyscalculia and issues with spatial disorientation
With Kim’s advanced training in ART, she is able to offer ART to treat the following additional issues:
Fear of change
Chronic pain
Dyslexia, dyscalculia
Symptoms related to history of stroke
